You will be glad to know that I called Esurance yesterday and got a quote. Jenna and I are now waiting for approval. We picked a plan that has a $1,000 deductible and an $80 premium. And it covers us for just the month of August. In fact, the coverage ends Aug. 31. Hopefully we will get approved. The man at Esurance said it usually takes between 24 and 72 hours.
We bought backpacks yesterday for our trip. We went running. And we watched Spain beat Germany 1-0 in the World Cup semifinal. After the game Andres texted me, joking that his "grandmother country" had beaten my "grandmother country".
Jenna and I spied some new engagement photos on Jenna's old roommate's Facebook page (the one whose wedding we're going to Saturday). We have found that sometime we have to tamp down our feelings of envy for other people's weddings--the thing they have and what they are doing. I guess as a soon-to-be-married couple we are experiencing the "keeping up with the Joneses" syndrome for the first time. I mean, you have actually lived next to the Joneses for more than 20 years. How do you not try to keep up with them? :)
Love,
Your Son
Hey,
ReplyDeleteThis is my first effort at blogging. The Joneses had their house painted last year. We had ours painted this year. They had landscaping work earlier this summer, we are having landscaping work done now. I would tell you though, we did not have those projects done because THEY did! We talk across the fence(obviously metaphorically) about what were having done or how yard work is going, etc.
We can't imagine that there are any better engagement photos that exist anywhere(obviously we are partial). And don't forget the song:
"You've got to make your own kind of music,
Sing your own special song......"
Love,
Dad
Kyle,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got in contact with the ehealthinsurance guy. I don't think there would be any reason why you shouldn't be approved.
I have been looking at several companies online that sell international medical and travel insurance. The policies cover you while you are living in another country for major/catastrophic injuries or illnesses, which is what you would want. You could receive treatment anywhere in the world--except the U.S. Our health care system is so "special," you know. And "heaven forbid" if we even try to talk about changing it! (That's my little rant.) Next week when you get back, we should probaly think more about that.
I got a kick out of Andres' comment about your grandmother countries! :)
Seeing something that someone else has and admiring it is perfectly natural. You have no reason to be envious though. You both are perfect as you are! :)
Love, Mom
